Will September Begin a Harvest?

It is now September and for most of us, that means the Fall Season has begun.

  • Colorful leaves.
  • Apples and Cornucopia baskets.
  • Cozy sweaters.
  • New sharpened pencils.
  • Hearty soup.
  • Pumpkin everything.

How desperately we need a time of Harvest in our lives!

And now, God, do it again— bring rains to our drought-stricken lives. So those who planted their crops in despair will shout hurrahs at the harvest, So those who went off with heavy hearts will come home laughing, with armloads of blessing. Psalm 126.4-6

Perhaps you have almost lost hope; finding few answers for the endless questions that plague your mind? No comfort for your heart’s loneliness and despair?

Even when you try to contain the chaos and stay positive, there’s always another crisis just around the corner.

Is your life, like the psalmist’s, “drought-stricken?” Parched. Weathered. Thirsty. Are you weary to the bone?

Today there are many who share your experience — the hard work of planting in crusty, hard, soil. Waiting for rain. Hoping for harvest. How you long to return home at the end of the day with good news — a life saved, a contract won, unity on your team, financial provision, something fruitful from all that deep digging.

The apostle Paul urged “So let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.” Galatians 6.9 Don’t you wish now was just the right time?

God is always on time. It may not be today, nor tomorrow. But as we continue to plant, one day we will notice a tiny shoot of new life. And soon we, too, shall come home “laughing, with armloads of blessing.”

It’s September. God, do it again. In you. With you. For you.

Every Blessing, Lucinda

    Hi Lucinda
I was at Camp if the Woods a few weeks ago and really enjoyed your message! Unfortunately I had to leave a few days early as there was a situation at home with my grandchild ( everything is ok) but your message helped me see that I needed to be there to help. I listened to the last 2 messages on the camp app and I was so grateful for that. I do feel like this year has been the hardest so far but I’m trusting God and know His plan is in the works for good and the drought will be over in his perfect timing!
    Be Blessed!!
